Dynamic Meditation (Osho)

Meditation is not only peace and quiet, but also a powerful flow of energy that helps transform your life. Osho Dynamic Meditation is a unique practice created especially for modern people whose lives are full of stress, hustle, and suppressed emotions. At the Prayas Meditation Center, we offer you the opportunity to immerse yourself in this transformative practice that changes life on a profound level.

What is Osho Dynamic Meditation?

This meditation consists of five consecutive stages that combine active movement, breathing, sound, and stillness. It was created to release suppressed emotions, unlock inner freedom, and bring you to a state of deep awareness.

  1. Breathing: Deep, chaotic breathing fills the body with energy and helps release pent-up inner strength.
  2. Expression of emotions: Shout, laugh, cry, dance — allow everything that has accumulated inside to come out.
  3. Energy surge: Active jumping movement with the sound "HUH" allows energy to rise to the higher centers.
  4. Observation: Absolute stillness and silence — a moment of deep inner awareness.
  5. Celebration: Free dance, complete relaxation, and enjoyment of the present moment.

Instructions for the First Stage

The first stage of Dynamic Meditation is 10 minutes of full immersion in intense and chaotic breathing. This stage is aimed at activating your energy and preparing for deep inner release. It’s important to follow the guidelines to achieve the maximum effect.

How to Perform the First Stage:

  1. Begin with breathing through your nose:
Breathe quickly and intensely. Your breathing should be chaotic — unpredictable in rhythm and intensity. It’s crucial that it remains deep, reaching the lowest parts of your lungs.
  2. Maintain relaxation in the body:
While breathing, make sure your body, especially your neck and shoulders, stays relaxed. Don’t tense your muscles so that the energy can circulate freely.
  3. Immerse yourself in the breathing:
Make your breathing total; become the process itself. Let your mind dissolve into this chaotic movement of air, and become one with the breathing.
  4. Allow the energy to move your body:
When you feel the energy in your body begin to move, don’t hold it back. Let your body respond naturally to the breathing with movements of your arms, head, and torso. These movements help intensify the flow of energy and elevate it to a new level.
  5. Continue until the end:
Don’t reduce the pace or stop before the 10 minutes are up. This stage is crucial for the full activation of energy. Remember, the more you surrender to the process, the stronger its impact.

What’s Important to Remember:

  1. Your breathing is the key to unlocking your inner potential.
  2. Let go of control and give your body the freedom to express itself.
  3. Don’t worry about how you look or what sounds you make — this is your personal space for transformation.

Trust the process, breathe totally, and you will feel the energy begin to fill you from within. The first stage is the moment of awakening, the beginning of your inner journey.

Instructions for the Second Stage

The second stage of Dynamic Meditation is 10 minutes of complete release of emotions, tension, and inner chaos. Here you allow your body to take over and express everything that needs to come out. This stage is a space for liberation, where there is no place for control or restraint.

How to Perform the Second Stage:

  1. Follow your body:
Give your body complete freedom. Let it move as it wants. Listen to its impulses — do not suppress any urge to express yourself.
  2. Explode!
Allow yourself to scream, laugh, cry, shriek, jump, dance, or shake. Do whatever comes naturally. This is your time for total self-expression.
  3. Let go of the mind’s control:
Don’t try to analyze how you look or sound. The mind should not interfere in this process. Allow yourself to "go crazy" — let go of everything that hinders you and simply be in the moment.
  4. Use a bit of acting:
If it’s hard to relax at first, try playing a role. Imitate laughter, shouting, or dancing, and soon it will become natural.
  5. Be total:
Your task is to fully surrender to the process. Don’t hold anything back; give your body and emotions maximum freedom.

Important to Remember:

  1. This is not just body movement; it is deep internal cleansing.
  2. The more you express, the easier and freer you’ll feel afterward.
  3. This stage helps remove accumulated stress, fears, and suppressed emotions.

Be brave, let everything come out. The second stage is a moment of liberation that prepares you for further self-immersion. Trust the process, move totally, and you will feel incredible relief and inner freedom.

Instructions for the Third Stage

The third stage of Dynamic Meditation is 10 minutes of intense physical and energetic explosion, helping to activate your vital energy and raise it to a new level. It is important to fully immerse yourself in the process, working with your body and sound as totally as possible.

How to Perform the Third Stage:

  1. Prepare your body:
Relax your shoulders and neck. Raise your arms as high as you can, but do not straighten them completely. Keep them in a comfortable, natural position.
  2. Start jumping:
Jump with your arms raised, landing on your feet. Make sure your heels touch the floor each time you land. This is important for the vibration from the jumps to penetrate deep into the body.
  3. Pronounce the mantra “HUH!”
With each jump, shout the sound “HUH!” from the lowest part of your abdomen. Feel the sound directing itself into your sexual center and the vibration filling your entire body.
  4. Be total:
Don’t hold back. Jump with maximum energy and give it 100%. Let every cell of your body participate in the process.
  5. Exhaust yourself completely:
Your task is to use up all the accumulated energy. Feel your body become light and free from internal blocks and tension.

What’s Important to Remember:

  1. The more you commit to the practice, the stronger its effect.
  2. Stay attentive to your body, but don’t let the mind interfere or control the process.
  3. The sound “HUH!” is a powerful tool that helps direct energy and activate the upper energy centers.

The third stage is the point of culmination, when energy reaches its peak. Fully immersing yourself in the process allows you to feel an incredible surge of vitality and prepare your body and mind for the next stages of the meditation. Be bold, trust your body, and give it your all!

Instructions for the Fourth Stage

The fourth stage of Dynamic Meditation is 15 minutes of absolute stillness and inner observation. This stage completes the process of intense energy release, helping you enter a state of deep awareness and presence.

How to Perform the Fourth Stage:

  1. Instant Stop:
At the signal from the leader or the sound of a timer, stop instantly.
Freeze in whatever position you find yourself in, even if it’s uncomfortable or unexpected.
  2. Complete Stillness:
Do not move, adjust yourself, or try to take a comfortable position. Any movement, even the smallest, will break the flow of energy.
Remain silent; avoid coughing, shifting, or other actions.
  3. Observe Your State:
Remain a witness to everything happening inside you. This could be emotions, thoughts, sensations in the body, or energy flows.
Do not judge, analyze, or interfere with what is happening. Just observe.
  4. Be Aware of the Moment:
Feel how the energy generated in the previous stages stabilizes and redistributes within you.
Allow your consciousness to deepen into a state of silence and calm.

Key Points:

  1. The ability to remain still is the key to success in this stage. Even a small movement can destroy the accumulated energetic potential.
  2. Let go of control. Let everything that happens unfold naturally.
  3. Remember: this is a time for inner observation and complete presence.

The fourth stage is a moment of integration and inner transformation. It allows you to feel the depth of your being, connect with yourself, and sink into a state of pure awareness. Be extremely attentive and total to experience its full power.

Instructions for the Fifth Stage

The fifth stage of Dynamic Meditation is a time to celebrate life and the energy you have awakened within yourself. This final stage lasts for 15 minutes, and its goal is to express gratitude, joy, and a deep connection with the moment through dance and music.

How to Perform the Fifth Stage:

  1. Begin Celebrating:
As soon as the music starts, begin to move. Dance in any way you like, allowing your body to express everything it feels.
Let the joy and energy accumulated in the previous stages fully manifest.
  2. Be Spontaneous:
Don’t think about your movements, don’t control them. Let your body dance freely, without limitations or patterns.
Don’t be shy, don’t analyze your actions — just enjoy the process.
  3. Immerse Yourself in the Music:
Let the music guide you; feel its rhythm and vibration.
Use it as a conductor to express your energy and emotions.
  4. Enjoy Life:
Be aware of the here and now. This is not just a dance; it’s a celebration of life, its astonishing beauty, and magnificence.
Feel how each gesture, each movement, unites you with being.
  5. Carry This State Throughout the Day:
After the meditation ends, retain this feeling of lightness, joy, and vitality.
Celebrate life in every moment, regardless of circumstances.

Key Points:

  1. This stage helps integrate all the stages of the meditation, completing a deep inner process.
  2. Celebration is a natural state of your being. Open yourself to it without shame or restriction.
  3. The dance in the fifth stage is not just a physical act; it is an expression of your energy, freedom, and love for life.

Allow yourself to celebrate! Enjoy this moment and let joy fill every cell of your body, spreading it into the external world. This is the time to be fully alive and aware of the power of the moment.

Why Practice Dynamic Meditation?

Dynamic Meditation is a practice that helps you discover the inner observer, capable of staying centered even during intense activity. It allows you to move beyond automatic reactions and attain a deep self-awareness. Why is this important? Because without awareness, life passes by in a dream — in habitual patterns and reactions governed by fears and desires.

During Dynamic Meditation, you are actively involved in breathing, movement, and emotional expression. However, the key to transformation lies not in the actions themselves, but in awareness. Your task is to remain a witness. Observe yourself as if everything happening is not directly related to you, as if you’re not the one breathing, moving, or expressing yourself, but rather the body you are attentively guiding.

It’s important to remember how easy it is to lose yourself. For instance, during deep and intense breathing, you can become so immersed in the process that you stop observing yourself. However, if you miss that moment, you miss the main point: the very essence of meditation. The breathing should be deep and energetic, but your consciousness must remain clear and present.

How Does the Meditation Work?

Dynamic Meditation consists of several steps. The first three steps are preparation. They help you release accumulated tension, emotions, and energies that hinder clear awareness. You breathe, move, express yourself, but at the same time observe every action. This phase allows your consciousness to step out of its habitual "frozen" zone and into a state of living awareness.

On the fourth step, when everything stops, the moment of truth arrives. You stop doing anything and simply freeze, remaining in absolute stillness. At that moment, your vigilance peaks. This is a state of pure witnessing, where you are no longer connected with the body, mind, or emotions. This is the true goal of meditation — to experience something indescribable in words, yet capable of changing you forever.

What Does This Practice Give?

Dynamic Meditation not only relieves stress or helps “reboot” your psyche; it is a process of profound growth. When you begin to become aware of yourself, the true birth of a new “I” occurs — clear, free from the shackles of false beliefs and automatisms.

The practice gives you the key to a state in which you no longer live in the division between “doing” and “awareness.” It unites these two parts, allowing you to be active and simultaneously remain in harmony with yourself. It is a state where every action is meaningful, and every moment is filled with awareness.

Dynamic Meditation is a path to freedom from inner chains, the birth of your true self. Discover this practice for yourself and let your consciousness meet the genuine depth of being.
